Chicken Parmesan

📝 Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 ½ cups breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Pound the chicken breasts to even thickness, season with salt and pepper, and dredge each breast in flour, followed by beaten eggs, and then the breadcrumb mixture (breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan).
  2. Sear the Chicken:
    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy, then remove and set aside.
  3. Assemble the Dish:
    In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce, place the chicken on top, then spoon more marinara sauce over the chicken. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over each chicken breast.
  4. Bake:
    Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve:
    Garnish with fresh basil leaves and extra Parmesan cheese. Serve over pasta or with a side of garlic bread.

Tip: For a crispy crust, broil the chicken for the last 2-3 minutes to get the cheese golden and bubbly.
